  • Game Drives:
    • Expect multiple game drives in open safari vehicles, both during the day and possibly at night. These drives are the primary way to spot wildlife.
    • The focus is on seeing the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and buffalo), as well as a wide variety of other animals, including zebras, giraffes, hippos, and numerous bird species.
  • Camping in the Wild:
    • “Participatory” implies you’ll be involved in setting up camp, which adds to the authentic experience.
    • Nights are spent in tents within or near Kruger National Park, allowing you to hear the sounds of the African bush.
    • This experience can range from basic camping to more comfortable tented accommodation, depending on the tour operator.

Itinerary

Day 1Tranfers to Kruger

Your trip kicks off with a transfer from Johannesburg to Kruge

Directions for meeting us:

International arrival Terminal A

As you walk out the international arrival doors (Terminal A) to the outside by the street, you will see a big civilian crossing, cross that crossing. You will see a passage/walkway that goes in between the Car rental places (on your left) and the Intercontinental Hotel (on your right), walk on straight with this passage and you will walk into the bus terminal area.

The bus terminal area has a big room with metal seating, big glass windows overlooking the shuttle and bus parking area, across the road from the terminal you will see the City Lodge.

Now that you know you are at the right place, just relax and wait for our hourly shuttle to come by and pick you up.

Domestic arrival Terminal B

As you walk out the domestic arrival doors (Terminal B), you need to turn right and walk straight down to international arrivals Terminal A. As you walk out the international arrival doors (Terminal A) to the outside by the street, you will see a big civilian crossing, cross that crossing. You will see a passage/walkway that goes in between the Car rental places (on your left) and the Intercontinental Hotel (on your right), walk on straight with this passage and you will walk into the bus terminal area.

The bus terminal area has a big room with metal seating, big glass windows overlooking the shuttle and bus parking area, across the road from the terminal you will see the City Lodge.

Now that you know you are at the right place, just relax and wait for our shuttle to come by and pick you up.

 

Day 2Adventure Begins

Your safari kicks off after a nourishing breakfast at the picturesque Mlondozi Picnic Site, you’ll venture into the park’s vastness, eyes peeled for the iconic Big Five. As dusk falls, you’ll arrive at Satara Rest Camp, where you’ll pitch your tent and gather around the campfire, indulging in traditional South African dishes and sharing tales under the starry night sky.

 

Day 3Heart of Kruger

Dawn breaks at Timbavati Picnic Site, a symphony of birdsong accompanying your breakfast amidst the untamed beauty.

The day unfolds with thrilling wildlife encounters, each turn revealing the park’s diverse tapestry. A midday pause at Muzandzeni Picnic Spot offers a moment of tranquil reflection, before you arrive at Maroela Camp. As dusk descends, embrace the authentic African spirit, cooking beneath a star-studded sky, and surrendering to the captivating nocturnal chorus of the bush.”

 

Day 4The Wild Farewell

Your final day begins with a return to Muzandzeni for breakfast, savoring the park’s tranquility one last time. After a leisurely lunch at Skukuza, you’ll commence the journey back to base camp, your spirit full of the wild tales and unforgettable experiences that only Kruger can offer.
